Superintendent’s Message
Dr. Jason Hodgson brings over two decades of experience in education to his role as Superintendent of the Taft Union High School District. His career began as an English teacher at Arvin High School, where he quickly took on additional leadership roles, including Health Careers Academy Coordinator, Dean of Athletics and Activities, and Assistant Principal of Instruction.
After six years as Assistant Principal, Dr. Hodgson was named Principal of Standard Middle School in Oildale. In 2016, he joined the Kern County Superintendent of Schools' leadership team, where he helped launch the Kern Learning Network—an initiative designed to support the county’s 47 school districts and four charter schools.
In 2018, Dr. Hodgson became Director of Professional Development for the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District. There, he led the creation of PVB University, a highly regarded model for teacher-led professional development that continues to serve more than 950 teachers and administrators.
Since 2021, Dr. Hodgson has proudly served as Superintendent of Taft Union High School District, where he remains committed to empowering educators, supporting students, and advancing academic excellence throughout the district.
