    Substitute Teaching

    To become a substitute for the District, you must first obtain the appropriate credential from the State of California. For information on this process, please contact the Kern County Superintendent of Schools at 661.636.4751. 
     
    Once you are credentialed with KCSOS, fill out the online application linked above to be considered.  

    Board-approved substitutes will be added to our calling system after completing orientation and may then begin working for our district. Substitutes are assigned to both the Taft High and Buena Vista High School campuses.
